Collision Probabilities for a Group of RF Sensors
Summary: The client was in the process of taking a new RF position sensor to market and was finalizing the application requirements. Some problems were noted during on-site beta testing, namely, that when many of the RF sensors were placed within a close proximity, some RF transmissions were being missed. After collecting data from a receiver with a logic analyzer, a collision probability study was performed. The analysis was parameterized to allow "what if" games to be played in Excel to obtain a suitable performance.
