Configuration Program for an RF Position Sensor
Summary: Phoenix Controls Corp. makes a family of sash position sensors for fume hoods. They wanted to add a new, wireless sensor to their family of sensors. The client designed and built a new RF position sensor for them, but they needed a way to configure the sensors during installation. A Visual Basic 6 program called SashCommis was written to commission or configure a specific installation for the sensors. A second program called Sash Simulator was written that simulated the sensor/receiver combination. This was done in order to test the configuration software prior to the completion of the hardware. The program consists of a Visual Basic 6 GUI and serial communications using the MSComm ActiveX control.
Technologies used: Microsoft Visual Basic 6, MSComm ActiveX control
Client: TechEn, Inc.
