Datalogger Serial Data Extraction to Excel
Summary: The client had been doing some work for Sontra Medical Corp., a medical devices manufacturer. It had built a datalogging device that recorded data for twenty-four hours, but Sontra needed an easy way to extract that information for analysis. The result was a Visual Basic for Application (VBA) module within an Excel macro that allowed the data to be imported directly into Excel via a serial port using RS232 communications.
