WardMonitor - GUI, Database, and Serial Communications
Summary: WardMonitor is a program that provides a user interface , a database, and serial communications for a set of patient instruments. Communication with the patient devices is accomplished with an RF transceiver connected to a PC via a serial port. A small Microsoft Access database was designed an implemented to manage the patient devices and a set of pagers that would be dialed when an alarm occurs. A software simulation of the bedside hardware (BedsideMonitor) was implemented to test the WardMonitor software. All programming was done in Visual Basic 6.
